Project Description
Vodafone Idea, also known as “Vi,” is one of India’s largest telecom service providers and a key client of Lollypop Design Studio. I had the privilege of contributing to multiple projects for Vi across both the consumer and enterprise segments. This case study spotlights one such project focused on enhancing the digital experience for corporate customers.
Vi business is a part of Vodafoneidea group that provides solutions related to IoT, mobility, connectivity, security, communications and cloud to support the growing needs of corporate customers.

Project objectives

BACKGROUND
Vi business post paid mobility
Vi Business postpaid mobility is a customised mobile service for small, medium and large enterprise, providing flexible features, predictable monthly billing, and efficient communication solutions designed to meet their business needs.
Core experience
The core experience enables a customer to choose a plan, select the number of connections required & on submission of the request receive an acknowledgement email. The customer’s needs are then fulfilled by Vi Business team.

Why digital?
70% to 80% of B2B buyers and sellers preferred remote human interactions or digital self service in India post covid-19
My process
Research
I collaborated with the product team to gain a clear understanding of the postpaid mobility product its target customers, business goals, and overall project objectives. This helped establish a strong foundation for aligning design decisions with both user and business needs.
Developer Handoff
Throughout the process, I closely stayed in touch with engineers to ensure the designs were intuitive, aligned with user needs and business goals, and technically feasible for implementation. This seamless handoff helped deliver a cohesive and high-quality final product.
Design & Prototype
I worked closely with UX designers and researchers to stay aligned on the product direction. Although it was beyond my initial scope, I took the initiative to create early-stage design concepts, which allowed me to plan the interface more effectively and anticipate potential challenges.
Test & Iterate
Once the core wireframes were ready, I refined them using existing design system components. During this stage, I connected with the brand team to guide the creation of visual assets, partnered with the content team to craft final copy, and coordinated with motion designers to plan animations for various use cases.
Who is Vi business ideal customer?
The target users are corporate customers from various segments that include larger enterprises, medium-sized businesses, small and micro businesses, startups, government and public sector organisations.

Wireframes & prototype
At the wireframe stage regular communication with engineers allowed me to consider their perspective and capabilities, ensuring that the designs were user-friendly and easy to implement.

Design system & visual consistency
The existing Vi design system was extensive, so I took the time to thoroughly familiarize myself with it to ensure visual consistency across the final designs. I also defined and created new components for the Vi Business website, which helped the team maintain cohesion and easily scale the design across additional pages.

Reflections and Learnings
Stakeholder management
The project involved various stakeholders: product managers, squad leaders, UX researchers, brand teams, and engineers. I learned to communicate design decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Project planning
This project had a 1.5 month design timeline, and engineering execution began in parallel. I learned to effectively plan and communicate my timelines with stakeholders in order to achieve our objectives.
Adapted to working in fast paced setting
While juggling multiple projects, I efficiently managed my time to consistently deliver quality work.
